RECENT PORTUGUESE PUBLICATIONS

We shall attempt to supply any book in print published in Portugal. We will also be happy to answer questions concerning our Portuguese blanket order and approval plans, as well as our search services for rare and out-of-print items from Spain, Portugal and Brazil.

Prices quoted in our on-line inventory for recent Portuguese publications are subject to change without notice, due to the vagrancies of Portuguese publishers and the exchange rate.

 

SHIPPING FROM LISBON

Portuguese postal rates and regulations for packages of books changed drastically for the worse on January 1, 1991. Since then there have been a succession of additional rate raises, and various flip-flops on regulations. It is now possible to use a "special" book rate, "Económico," whereby registered shipments of more than 4 and up to 5 kilograms to most parts of the world cost about US$65.00. Recently these shipments via surface mail have been arriving in the western hemisphere within three to four weeks; nevertheless, one should allow up to two months for arrival, perhaps three months or more for arrival in East Asia or Australia. Shipments within Europe are somewhat less expensive, and faster.

 

 

We regret that we must impose a minimum shipping charge of US$20.00 for any package originating from Portugal.
